By Claudia Campos

If you love being creative and adding to songs, then you might like being a disc jockey. This career is very popular all over the world and earns many music lovers respect in urban areas. This job is not only fun, it is also interesting. If you think you can play music for others and can mix well, why don't you learn to be a DJ? It's a fun thing to do.

A disc jockey's job is to play music for a crowd. They keep music playing all night and control the length of time each song is played. Their job is to keep the music playing and to add to certain songs by mixing them so they can sound unique.

If you want to be a disc jockey, you have to know a lot of different songs. Most people with this job know all the new hit singles and classic records. People like to hear the new material that's out, but that doesn't mean you can't go back in time with your taste in music. Time is another thing you should think about if you want this job. Every album you play should have a time limit.

When you work on your skills, make sure your music choices fit the mood. Here's an example, if everyone in the room is energetic and loud, you may want to play a rock song that's popular or a song that has a pace just as fast. If the room is calm, find a slow song to play. Determining what fits the mood is really a judgement call on your part.

Mixing is actually easy. The only thing you are doing is scratching the record so it makes the music sound interesting. You are basically creating remixes when you use the turntables.

If you love playing music for others, learn to be a dj. This job can be fun and you can get a lot from it. This popular career can get you some notoriety if you practice a lot.
